TRIBAL TATTOO

TRIBAL DESIGN i added this tribal design to the skull that i had previously done i thought it would make it look really good to have bits of the design coming through the skull to join it all together.just got to do something with the eyes sometime maybe use some uv ink to make them appear to glow .

Butterfly tattoo

butterfly tattoo this tattoo was placed to cover a scar and it turned out very nice. The flower colours were taken straight from a flower that my friend brought with her.

TRIBAL TATTOO DONE USING A 5 LINER AND A 11 M2 SHADER, USED SKIN CANDY BLACK EYE BLACK AND KNUCKLE HEAD RED .

THE NAMES WERE ADDED A FEW WEEKS LATER THEY WERE DESIGNED BY MARK WHO NEW HOW HE WANTED THEM TO LOOK, FOR THE FINE LETTERING I USED A 3 LINER AND FOR THE HEARTS A 5 ROUND SHADER, THE NAMES CAME OUT PRETTY GOOD AND MARK WAS HAPPY WITH HOW THE WHOLE TATTOO CAME OUT, I THINK!

lettering tattoo

THIS IS MY FIRST ATTEMPT AT LETTERING AND IT CAME OUT REALLY WELL , DECIDED TO USE A 5 LINER AND GOT A MUCH BETTER LINE THAN USING A 3 IT SEEMS TO BE MUCH HARDER WITH A REALLY SMALL NEEDLE SOMETIMES LINES CAN BE A LITTLE WIGGLY BUT WITH THE 5 PERFECT.

ALSO USED TALENS BLACK INK WHICH IS A PRETTY GOOD BLACK, IT CAN ALSO BE THINNED DOWN TO MAKE SHADING INK.

SOMETHING ELSE THAT I HAVE REALLY FOUND USEFULL IS DIAMOND TIPS THEY ARE BRILLIANT THE INK FLOWS SO MUCH BETTER WITH THEM AND YOU HAVE A MUCH BETTER VIEW OF WHERE THE NEEDLE IS GOING.

tattooing

Tattooing is something i have always been interested in, i have thought it was something i would like to do for about 10 years but thought it was something that was very difficult to start, i thought equipment would be to expensive and there are not really any places that would take you on and teach you, so i didn't get into it. around last October i was on ebay and i noticed tattoo stuff not that expensive and i thought will i wont i, could i actually do it, would it be to hard to learn i mentioned it to friends who said why not you could give it a go and if you found you couldn't do it you could always re-sell the equipment it would be no loss really. I couldn't decide, then i got given some money for Xmas and thought why not and i ordered a full starter set.

Before i even started on a person i surfed the net for any information i could get on tattooing, how to set up your machine, what each type of needle was for, needle depth, how to do outlines and apply colour, hygiene and after care. I then spent some time practicing using practise skins (this was useful to get to know the feel of the machine but was be a bit messy and the skin bubbles up sometimes and is nothing like doing it on skin)

My first tattoo was on a friend it wasn't that great but it wasn't that bad either for a first and my friend was willing to be the practise skin, that's it its a symbol from stargate (Anubis) he is a fan and although it isn't perfect he was happy with it, it became a bit raised and went quite scabby.

i realise now that i may have went a little deep with the needle, so for the next tattoo i made sure that when pushing and holding the armature bar down with the gun set up that the needle could only go into the skin 2mm maximum as that is the depth needed so that it goes as deeply into the dermal layer of the skin as required to make clean, clear lines. when doing the outline i needed to try to remember to hold the skin taut as this helps with clean penetration and will result in straighter lines. The needle must also be used at a 45% position to the skin and moved smoothly yet firm, lines should be done in one long stroke if possible and done away from you, so as to get good back pressure for the ink Flo.

The next one i did was a kanji symbol and it didn't look to hard but i was still a little worried about making a mistake, after all he would have to live with it,it came out OK and he seemed to be happy with it, this was his first ever tattoo. It healed OK but isn't a very dark black. I have now invested in better ink as the cheaper imported ink doesn't have very good pigment in it.
good ink like "scream, skin candy, eternal ink, kuro sumi blacks/grey wash and talens black are definitely a good investment so that your tattoos have a good strong colour that lasts. Don't try to save money on the cheaper inks as you will end up spending again on the good stuff, also don't buy the cheap guns from places like hongkong etc as they are rubbish, better to invest in a good quality machine doesn't have to be the best, most expensive an international or a Glyn flew will do the job so long as you have it set right, i use a Glyn flew and its great, nice and light with mini coils, had a brass one but found it to heavy.

My next tattoo was much better and i had read lots more about the do's and dont's, it was a bit of a tricky one and i wasn't sure if it would be to hard, but it was what he wanted and he had confidence in me that i could do it, but he also understood that it might not come out that great.
He said to me its OK it can always be fixed once you are better.

Came out not to bad, i did all the line work in dark green then filled in the knot work with the yellow and then did all the green, i have read that you should start with the lighter colours first because you can always go over light with darker but you can't go over dark with light.
When the tattoo healed it looked really good as it had no outline.
